I’ll be back behind the bar this weekend, both Friday and Saturday 12-8 p.m. I’m excited to see the regulars who supported and followed me during my WSOP Main Event journey this summer. I feel frustrated I booked no wins, (last year I cashed in 3 out of 6 tournaments, including two final tables), and this year I was 0 for 5. I’m thinking about a Borgata Event next week, and that I’ll keep at the poker until the end of September, and then give it a break.
My sister, Lexi, is the Executive Director of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, which had its opening night yesterday at The Castro Theatre. The opening film was Love Gilda, a documentary about Gilda Radner. Lexi asked me to invent a drink called Roseanne Roseannadana for a cocktail to be served at the premiere. Here’s my recipe:
1 1/2 oz Tito’s vodka
1 oz pineapple juice
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
Fill highball glass with ice and pour above ingredients and fill remainder of the glass with ginger beer
Garnish with a lime wedge.
Tastes like KEY LIME PIE
Speaking of documentaries, I’m working on my own documentary of my poker journey. I now have 3 years of Main Event footage plus Atlantic City documentation as well. I’d like to compile a documentary about being a woman in poker. There were only 301 women out of a field of almost 8000 players in this year’s Main Event. Also, my perspective of the mental aspects of being a tournament poker player. Any input would be appreciated. I documented my journey on my YouTube channel and in episodes 1,2,3,6 & 7 of Joanna & Kevin’s Big Show Podcast. Subscribe to both and comment, rate 5 stars, etc….
